Davey, Communicator, and W3 Awards for KFAI Website
OCTOBER 26, 2020

In addition to winning a 2020 Webby, the Knight First Amendment Institute website has received four recent awards from Davey, Communicator, and W3. The website was awarded in the following categories:

The website, which we launched in 2019, is designed and architected to respond to KFAI’s unique needs as an organization that conducts both research and litigation. Clean lines, carefully considered brand elements, and plenty of white space bring the organization’s work to the foreground. Thoughtful structure and development allow for intuitive navigation between and within program areas, topics, and complex legal processes. Throughout, the brand message is clear: this is a new kind of institution, and it’s changing the conversation on free speech.

Gratitude to our development partners at Tierra Innovation, the KFAI team, and all the incredible artists who make the website come alive: Leandro Castelao, Melinda Beck, Edmon de Haro, Nate Kitch, Sara Wong, Erik Carter, Marly Gallardo, Jamiel Law, and Dale Crosby-Close.

About KFAI
The Knight First Amendment Institute defends the freedoms of speech and the press in the digital age. Established in 2016 by Columbia University and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, KFAI has produced leading scholarship and powerful legal action on the most urgent First Amendment issues of our time.

Point Five redesigned KFAI’s visual identity, including the development of a new logo, in 2018. We executed a comprehensive redesign of their website in 2019. We continue to provide ongoing art direction, design, and creative consulting services.
