Barbara Palmer, Director of Digital Content, describes our goals for the new website:
We wanted to create an online experience that more closely mirrors the print magazine while offering the advantages of an online, responsive platform. We know that readers might start an article in the print edition, pick it up in the middle on their phones, and then share it with a friend via email or on social media. We tried to make all of that as easy as possible.
It was also essential for the new site to give the magazine’s editors flexibility in their publishing process. We created a user-friendly WordPress CMS, customized to fit their needs, allowing the Convene team to easily and quickly publish content.
The new site also allows Convene content and advertising to be easily be shared with PCMA, the magazine’s parent organization.
